Make Your Own Midsommar Flower Crown: Simple Instructions.

Okay, so you wanna make one of those super pretty flower crowns, like the ones in Midsommar? I tried it out, and it’s actually easier than it looks. Here’s how I did it, step-by-step:

Gather Your Stuff

First, I grabbed everything I needed. This part is important, ’cause you don’t wanna be running around mid-crown.

  • Flowers: I picked a bunch of different ones from my garden and also grabbed some filler greenery, like leaves and stuff. You’ll want a good mix of big and small blooms.
  • Floral Wire: I got this from the craft store. It’s thin and green, so it blends in.
  • Floral Tape: This stuff is sticky and helps keep everything together. Also from the craft store.
  • Wire Cutters: To cut the wire, obviously. Pliers work, too.
  • Ribbon (optional): If you want to get fancy, you can add ribbon to tie at the back.

Make the Base

I started by measuring my head with the floral wire. I just wrapped it around to get a good circle shape. I made it a little bigger than my actual head size, ’cause you gotta account for the flowers adding bulk. I snipped the wire with the cutters, leaving a couple of extra inches. Then, I overlapped the ends and wrapped them tightly with floral tape to secure the circle. This is your crown base!

Prep the Flowers

Now, the fun part! I took each flower and trimmed the stems down to about 2-3 inches. For the leafy bits, I stripped off any leaves that were too low down – you just want the top, leafy part. This makes it easier to attach them to the wire.

Attach the Flowers

I started with the greenery. I laid a piece of greenery along the wire base and wrapped floral tape around the stem and the wire, pulling it tight. Then, I added another piece, overlapping it slightly, and taped it down. I kept doing this all the way around the base, creating a nice, green foundation.

Once the greenery was done, I started adding the flowers. I placed a flower on the base, held it in place, and wrapped the tape around the stem and wire, just like with the greenery. I tried to vary the sizes and colors, so it looked natural and balanced. I just kept adding flowers, working my way around the circle, until it was nice and full. If some spots looked a little empty, I just tucked in smaller flowers or leaves to fill them out.

Finishing Touches

After all flowers attached, I wrapped some extra rounds floral tape around the entire crown, just to make it extra secure.

I checked for any pokey wire ends and bent them inwards with my pliers so they wouldn’t scratch me. And that’s it!

It is not that diffcult.
