This morning, I decided to finally get my hands dirty and plant those Heavenly Blue morning glory seeds I’d been holding onto. I’ve always loved how vibrant those blue flowers look, so I was pretty excited to get started.
Getting Started
First, I gathered my supplies. This included:
- A packet of Heavenly Blue morning glory seeds
- A small bag of potting soil
- A few starter pots (the biodegradable kind, so I can plant them directly later)
- A spray bottle filled with water
- My trusty gardening gloves (gotta protect those hands!)
I found a spot on my balcony that gets a good amount of sun in the morning. Morning glories love their sunlight, so this seemed like the perfect location.
Planting the Seeds
I filled the starter pots with the potting soil, leaving a little bit of space at the top. Then, I poked a few small holes in the soil with my finger, about half an inch deep. I dropped a couple of seeds into each hole – I figured not all of them might sprout, so better to be safe.
Next, I gently covered the seeds with a bit more soil and gave them a good spritz with the water bottle. I didn’t want to drown them, just make sure the soil was nice and moist.
Waiting Game
Now comes the hard part – waiting! I placed the pots in that sunny spot on my balcony and made a mental note to check on them every day. I’ll need to keep the soil moist, but not soaking wet. I’m hoping to see some little sprouts popping up in a week or two.
Fingers Crossed!
I am so excited for the flowers, that I imagined the flowers *’s my first time growing morning glories, so I’m really hoping everything goes well. If all goes according to plan, I should have a beautiful display of Heavenly Blue flowers in a couple of months. I’ll definitely keep you updated on their progress! It’s really a wonderful thing to plant a seed and waiting for it to grow.
