Where to Buy Hydrangea Dried Flower Arrangement (Best Finds)

Okay, so I’ve been seeing these dried hydrangea arrangements everywhere and they look so classy, I just had to try making one myself. I’m no florist, mind you, but I figured, how hard could it be, right?

Getting Started

First things first, I needed some hydrangeas. Luckily, my neighbor has a huge bush that was overflowing with blooms, and she was kind enough to let me snip a few. I grabbed about five big, fluffy ones – a mix of pink and purplish-blue. The color was already fading a bit, which I actually liked; it gave them a vintage vibe.

The Drying Process

This part took the longest. I’d read online that you can just hang them upside down, so that’s exactly what I did. I tied some twine around the stems and hung them in my spare room, which is pretty dark and dry. It’s not the prettiest sight, having flowers dangling from the ceiling, but hey, it’s all part of the process! I left them there for a solid two weeks, maybe even a bit longer. I just kept checking on them until they felt papery and crisp to the touch.

Arranging the Dried Hydrangeas

Once they were fully dried, this is where the fun began! I found an old ceramic vase I had lying around – it’s got this nice, rustic look that I thought would be perfect. Then, I just started playing around with the flowers. I trimmed some of the stems shorter so they wouldn’t all be the same height. It’s all about creating some visual interest, you know?

  • Started with the biggest bloom in the center as a focal point.
  • Added the others around it, kind of fluffing them out and making sure they weren’t all crammed together.
  • Turned the vase around as I went, to make sure it looked good from all angles.

Honestly, there’s no right or wrong way to do this. It’s all about what looks good to you. I ended up tucking in a few dried lavender sprigs too, just for a little extra something-something. And that’s it!

The Final Result

I’m pretty chuffed with how it turned out! It’s sitting on my dining room table now, and it adds such a lovely, cozy touch to the room. It wasn’t hard at all, and it’s a great way to enjoy those beautiful hydrangeas for much longer. Definitely give it a try if you’re looking for a simple, but elegant, DIY project!
