Okay, so, today I tried to plant a “Wild Spirit” rose. I saw the name on a plant shop’s website – Everwilde Farms, I think it was? – and it said they had these “wild rose seeds” for sale. I thought, “Why not?” I love a good orange color, and that’s what the flower looked like on the website, so I went ahead and ordered some.
When the seeds came, I did some searching online. Seems like this “Wild Spirit” thing is a type of Florists Rose, whatever that means. It’s from Germany, made by some company called Rosen-Tantau in 2010, not that I know anything about them.
Planting Time
I went out to my backyard with the seeds. According to what I read, these things grow to be about 3 feet tall and spread out about the same. They like the sun, which is good because my backyard gets plenty of that. The information I got also said that these plants can live for around 20 years. I thought that was pretty cool.
I dug a few small holes in a nice sunny spot and dropped the seeds in. Then, I covered them up and gave them a good watering. I’m not really a plant expert or anything, so I hope I did it right. I guess we’ll see in a few weeks if anything starts to sprout.
Waiting Game
Now, it’s just a waiting game. I’ll keep watering the area and checking for any signs of life. It’s kind of exciting, like a little experiment in my backyard. I’m hoping to see those bright orange flowers eventually. If not, well, it was a fun little project anyway.
- Day 1: Planted the seeds, fingers crossed!
- Day 3: No change, just watering and waiting.
- Day 7: Still nothing. Maybe I should check if I did this right…
- Day 10: I see a tiny green sprout! It’s working!
- Day 15: More sprouts, and they’re getting bigger. Looking good!
I’ll keep you all updated on how this goes. Maybe I’ll have a beautiful “Wild Spirit” rose bush in a few months, or maybe I’ll just have a patch of dirt. Either way, it’s been a fun experience so far!
